POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Auxiliary Enterprises works under minimal supervision to oversee and direct complex revenue-generating operations of Auxiliary Services, including parking services, valet services, university stores, food and vending services, mail services, post offices, printing services, parking equipment maintenance, and garage cleaning services. Operations span academic, research, administrative, clinical, and mixed-use facilities on UT Southwestern’s Dallas campus and other leased properties in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Many of the service lines are provided by outsourced vendors and this role’s responsibilities include oversight of the vendors providing those services.
This role is on-site in an office environment.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
REQUIRED
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or related field.
· Seven years’ progressively responsible experience in managing financial operations of a complex and diverse organization. Related experience to include at least four years in a supervisory capacity.
· An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be used in lieu of stated degree requirements.
JOB DUTIES
· Oversees and directs complex revenue-generating operations of Auxiliary Services to ensure sustainable operations and optimal use of University assets and other resources.
· Establishes and implements short- and long-term goals, objectives, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates operational effectiveness and effects changes required for improvement.
· Works closely with all stakeholders, including the Institutional Sustainability Committee, to align financial operations with campus needs and institutional mission.
· Develops a portfolio of performance metrics and revenue projection models and for each discrete auxiliary operation to enable timely, data-driven decision making.
· Promotes and maintains a culture of service excellence through ongoing training and personnel development.
· Develops positive relationships with student leadership, faculty, and campus departments to create opportunities for communication and customer feedback on auxiliary services.
· Administrative responsibilities include budget control, contract administration, and supervision and development of staff and contract service providers. May convene advisory boards for individual services or functions.
· Maintains awareness of all revenue generating opportunities in market areas.
· Provides Vice President with timely and accurate updates on status of all activities; determines and establishes work priorities and staffing needs.
· Responsible for design, execution, and effectiveness of a system of internal controls, which provide reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded, and financial information is reliable.
· Provides leadership to ensure the department maintains compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
· Performs other duties as assigned.

· Work is performed primarily in the general office area.
